What You Will Do – Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for helping families navigate through the Child Welfare system while providing alcohol and other drug assessment, crisis intervention and brief treatment services to a diverse population of clients. Make appropriate recommendations for care and linkage services when necessary. May perform other child welfare casework within the Ohio Start model and may also provide protective services and case management to abused, neglected, dependent, unruly and/or delinquent children; performs child welfare casework including all out of home placements of children and provides support and direction to families and coordinates with the court system and other community agencies for case management. The employee will help the agency achieve CFSR standards and help ensure service delivery that focuses on Safety, Permanency and Well-being for the families served by the agency.
Conduct and complete substance abuse diagnostic assessments; Assess the needs and strengths of clients and results from diagnostic assessment; Implement transitional and aftercare plans and follow-up services. Assign child welfare cases to service teams.
Provides direct service through the following activities: visits homes and monitors case plan progress of the family; monitors and promotes stability and adjustment in all out of home placement settings.
Review individualized service/treatment plans and assesses compliance with treatment and medication plan; assist in developing and implementing action plan when clients are out of compliance; reporting any concerns of non-compliance or recommended discipline to supervisor.
Performs miscellaneous administrative duties such as: participating in supervisory conferences, scheduling visits, coordinating activities, preparing court related documents, traveling to homes/meetings, writing case plans including goals and treatment, completing CAPMIS assessments and SACWIS documentation, completing other necessary documents, reviewing data reports.

What you bring to the role:
Completion of undergraduate major program core requirements in social or behavioral science plus 12 mos. exp. in delivery of social services, or completion of graduate major program core requirements in behavioral or social science, excluding taking of comprehensive examination or writing thesis, plus 6 mos. exp. delivering social services.
What we hope you bring to the role:
Bachelor’s degree in Social work or related area, 2 yrs. Post relevant exp working with AOD clients and Child Welfare experience.
Minimum of Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant Phase II; LICDC preferred.
Recently trained in CORE.
Employee needs to be proficient in computer use and be able to type 30 WPM.
Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and after 4pm.
Knowledge and experience in working with at risk populations including those living in and out of home care.
Certifications or Licensure:
Valid Ohio Driver’s License
Upon hire, agency required automobile insurance.
