A year that began with PCSAO Executive Director Angela Sausser testifying before the U.S. House Ways and Means Committee and included a $15 million grant to assist county agencies with workforce recruitment and retention is recounted in our 2022 annual report, released today.
The PCSAO and Ohio START annual report reflects on a busy year of public policy advocacy, program excellence, and child protection system leadership. Addressing the two biggest challenges facing county agencies, PCSAO released a comprehensive research report on workforce and a data report on the treatment and placement crisis, the latter complementing testimony before a Congressional committee on the nation’s mental health crisis.
To address the workforce crisis, the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services awarded counties a $15 million recruitment and retention grant, administered by PCSAO. Ohio START launched cohort 5, reaching 54 counties, and assisted its first county in becoming nationally certified. The report also covers PCSAO’s ongoing commitment to build a continuum of care for children and families alongside internal efforts to improve agency culture and climate, address racial equity and develop a viable practice model.
