House Finance Committee hears final pitch on children services funding
When the House Finance Committee released a substitute budget bill earlier this week, missing from the changes was PCSAO’s joint request with the County Commissioners’ Association of Ohio for $50 million to be added to the State Child Protection Allocation.
The TANF earmark for the Kinship Caregiver Program was partially restored (at $10 million instead of $15 million), and several policy changes requested by PCSAO were included in Sub. HB 110. However, with the need for new funding to manage federal and state system transformations, PCSAO’s executive director, Angela Sausser, testified before the committee today to request the SCPA amendment again.

The Finance Committee will entertain one more round of amendments before sending the budget to the House floor for a vote, at which point HB 110 will move to the Senate. The budget is expected to be signed by the Governor by June 30.
