Intake Caseworker

Guernsey County Children Services

Provides social casework services to abused and neglected
children and their families.  Completes assessments and/or investigations of reports of abuse or neglect of children to determine risk.  Works with family to ensure safety. Works closely with courts, schools, mental health, and various community agencies to coordinate and provide intervention services for families. Performs paid emergency duty services on a rotating basis.

Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work with LSW beneficial or
license eligible in the State of Ohio, or bachelor’s degree in related field.  Prefer candidates who have completed Core training of the Ohio Child Welfare Training Program.  Must hold a valid Ohio driver’s license and maintain automobile liability insurance.  Excellent oral and written communication skills required.  Ability to relate to individuals from various social, economic, and cultural backgrounds. Must pass pre-employment drug and criminal background checks.
