What You Will Do – Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Designs visually appealing graphic art materials (e.g., publications, training programs, exhibits, maps, graphs, illustrations, technical reproductions, audio/visual aids, posters, diagrams, studio props, slide-shows), infographics, and other visual assets using state of the art software (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite -Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other related tools to support community awareness and internal engagement campaigns and enhance brand experience.
  • Develops high-quality content, including videos, graphics, presentations, email campaigns, social media posts, blog articles, and other communication collaterals, to effectively communicate the agency’s mission and priorities. Edits & performs lay-out work on publications, articles &/or newsletters.
  • Manages and coordinates the work of outside graphic design contractors and printers.
  • Collaborates and coordinates with internal stakeholders on the design and creation of branded content that drives consistent, impactful messaging.
  • Promotes the agency’s mission and message and educates external stakeholder groups including, but not limited to profit and non-profit organizations, provider agencies, neighborhood and faith-based organizations, and diverse communities regarding agency programs and services; prepare & disseminate educational & informational material reflecting agency activities & performs related program activities. education or awareness initiatives as assigned.
  • Performs other duties within the Communications and Community Outreach Division to include internal messaging and activities, participation in agency-related activities (such as Listening Lounges and internal committees), etc.; evaluates development, preparation & dissemination of public information.

What will make you successful:
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Completion of undergraduate major program core coursework in journalism or communication, as required by university or college, (or 2 yrs. Journalism or communication exp.)
    Plus: 100 hrs. training in supervision (or 1 mo. exp. as supervisor or lead worker); 1 course in budgeting (or 1 mo. exp.); 1 course in public relations (or 1 mo. exp.); or equivalent. 6 courses or 18 mos. trg. in graphic arts, art or industrial design Or 18 mos. exp. as graphic arts designer with exp. not having to include responsibility for final layout.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, graphic design or digital or related field and some related work experience
  • Or Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years related work experience
  • Or an equivalent combination. 9 courses or 24 mos. trg. in graphic arts, art or industrial design
  • Or 30 mos. exp. as graphic arts designer with exp. not having to include responsibility for final layout.

Certifications or Licensure:

  • Valid Ohio Driver’s License required.
