What You Will Do – Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Under close supervision, provides direct client services via counseling families and youth in preparation of the adoptive process and post-adoptive issues; counsels children in long term foster care; completes and updates home studies via home visits and evaluates adoptive applicants; conducts and coordinates educational and support groups for families and youth; participates in case reviews and evaluates needs of children for matching to adoptive home; may complete Child Study Inventories; may transport children to appointments or other meetings.
Prepares and maintains agency statistical and documentary material, including summaries, reports, forms, correspondence, etc.
Prepares records forms, reports and other documents in legalizing adoptions.
Participates in staff development meetings and training. Assists in emancipation programming and coordinates quarterly life skill classes.
Communicates and coordinates with other agencies for services; instructs parents regarding other Agency services and other post-adoptive assistance.
Collaborates with the Therapeutic Arts Program and engages in assignments related to youth actively involved in that program.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

What will make you successful:

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in social work or related area. LSW will be considered equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in social work.
Must be computer proficient.
Certifications or Licensure:

Valid Ohio Driver’s License required.
