What You Will Do – Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serves as the subject matter expert for all Agency leave programs under the general direction and guidance of HR leadership. Administers leave programs and policies in accordance with the applicable federal and state employment laws FMLA, ADA, BWC, USERRA, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, donated leave, disability claims and accommodations. Administers all aspects of leave programs to include facilitating Agency response to staff requests; maintaining Agency files and logs related to all such requests; serving as chief contact for staff inquiring about their eligibility and Agency process; and tracking hours used/taken and working closely with Payroll and HRIS Coordinator to facilitate staff’s use of accrued leave and allow Payroll to assess eligibility to use sick leave. Monitors and participates in the disability separation process for employees on unpaid leave. Works closely with staff to ensure that all relevant completed medical documentation is submitted for timely review. Maintains appropriate contact with staff on leave and coordinates all aspects of return to work for staff on leave. Coordinates and organizes all medical information and ensures that HIPAA and staff privacy guidelines are closely monitored and effectively executed. Facilitates workplace accommodation discussions to determine if, and when, an employee’s temporary restrictions can be accommodated. Works cooperatively with the County’s Risk Manager in relation to all workers’ compensation claims and employees’ ergonomic evaluation requests.
- Serves as County Benefits Coordination Liaison, attends County benefits meetings as necessary. Coordinates the Agency’s ThriveOn Program by scheduling biometric screenings, flu-shots, on-site wellness programming, representing the Agency at meetings, setting up employee challenges, educating employees on the program, and answering general questions on program specifics. Tracks and monitors EIR report and responds appropriately for EAP referral or another follow-up as necessary.
- Administers placement of temporary agency contract personnel and serves as liaison to temporary agencies; consults with supervisors on process for placement of temporary personnel; research online database and court system database for background checks on prospective employees from temporary agencies to determine eligibility; places temporary personnel; monitors temporary employees’ usage by departments and prepares report on usage; responds to complaints about temporary personnel.
- Performs other related duties as assigned. *Other related duties may include handling cases from Intake, if needed and if determined by HR to be qualified to do so.

What you bring to the role:
- Completion of undergraduate core program in human resources, business, or publication administration; or 2 years’ experience in human resources; or 1-year experience as a Human Capital Management Associate; or equivalent of minimum class qualifications.
What we hope you bring to the role:
- Minimum of 4 years of demonstrated, progressive human resources experience; and a bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field.
