Yesterday’s meeting of the Joint Legislative Committee on Multi-System Youth included public testimony from young people, parents, and child protection professionals, much of it focused on the inadequacy of residential treatment services and the need for improved coordination of services so that families do not have to relinquish custody of their children to county agencies in order to access services and supports.

A joint legislative committee on children requiring a range of interventions met Tuesday to take testimony. The Joint Legislative Committee on Multi-System Youth, created in the Biennial Budget, was a key priority for PCSAO, leading the association to collect data on this population and publish a new policy brief on the subject.

At its final meeting of 2015, the Ohio Job and Family Services Directors’ Association recognized David Wigent as Outstanding Director of the Year. Wigent is director of Wood County Job and Family Services and a member of PCSAO’s Board of Trustees.
