Ohio marks National Foster Care Month
Every May, National Foster Care Month provides an opportunity to acknowledge foster and kin caregivers, child protection professionals and others who support children and youth in foster care.
This year’s national theme is “It’s All Relative: Supporting Kinship Connections,” which emphasizes the importance of kin and family. Governor John Kasich issued a proclamation (pictured) marking the importance of all who play a role − including relative/kinship caregivers, foster parents, foster-to-adopt families and legal guardians − as partners in ensuring the safety, permanency and well-being of children in care. PCSAO celebrated National Foster Care Month by issuing a bold foster care reform plan.
