Voters approve children services levies in 12 of 13 counties
Voters in Vinton County passed that county’s first levy protecting children yesterday, becoming the 48th county in Ohio with a dedicated levy for children services; Vinton’s levy includes senior services as well.
Vinton joined Crawford and Licking counties in approving new tax levies for children services; a new levy in Jackson County fell short.
In addition to approving new levies, voters generously supported two replacement levies (Adams and Mahoning) and two renewals with increases (Fairfield and Lake). The remaining counties (Butler, Jefferson, Montgomery, Ross and Wood) handily passed renewal levies.
