'Day in the Life' webinar takes on challenges of caseworkers

Yesterday, county commissioners and other stakeholders learned about the challenges and rewards of working as a child protection caseworker through a webinar sponsored by the County Commissioners Association of Ohio.

Director John Fisher and Administrator Kim Wilhelm of Licking County Job and Family Services, along with Sara Wright of Champaign County Job and Family Services, led an hour-long discussion of issues impacting child protection caseworkers, including safety, turnover, compensation, paperwork demands and inequitable resources across county lines.

Entitled “A Day in the Life of a Child Protection Caseworker,” the hour-long webinar was part of a monthly series of Second Wednesday Seminars hosted by CCAO. The presentation, webinar recording and link to PCSAO’s “Day in the Life” video are available on CCAO’s website.
