Ohio Reach makes grants to four institutions
With support from the Ohio Attorney General’s Office, Ohio Reach awarded $60,000 grants to each of four colleges to provide mentoring to former foster youth on college campuses starting this fall.
The colleges receiving funds in check-signing ceremonies this week are Central State University (July 10), Columbus State Community College (July 9), and Ohio University (July 8). Cuyahoga Community College will have its ceremony soon. Ohio Reach Coordinator William Murray IV (pictured, far right) presented grants to the college presidents and other campus staff who will manage the projects.
The mentoring programs will support the vision for retention and graduation, and provide mentors to former foster youth with the greatest need.
Ohio Reach will continue working with all four institutions to create meaningful mentoring programs that improve postsecondary educational outcomes for former foster youth.
