2018 Annual Report: Take a chance to make a change

In its 2018 annual report released today, PCSAO highlights the system reform it launched last year, the Children’s Continuum of Care.

The annual report spells out the need to make a change in a system that has long been in crisis. The report title can be read as both “chance” and “change,” which is appropriate, according to PCSAO Executive Director Angela Sausser. She noted how through the leadership of PCSAO’s board and member agencies the association took a chance to outline recommendations that could lead to significant changes to Ohio’s children services system. The plan aligns with the Family First Prevention Services Act passed last year, and multiple stakeholders have endorsed it. “I couldn’t be more proud to be able to lead so many dedicated people who make it happen day in and day out,” Sausser said. “We have big challenges ahead — but we now also have a big plan to take them on.”

Other accomplishments in the annual report include state and federal advocacy, training and support for members, Ohio START expansion, and anti-human trafficking efforts. Sausser called 2018 an extraordinary year for the association and looks forward to implementing the ambitious plan in the coming years. “So let’s all keep up the work, and make more big things happen for the families and children of Ohio,” she said.
