As one of the nation’s top journalist, he was awarded a Nieman Fellowship at Harvard University. During his journalistic career, Clarence earned three duPont-Columbia Awards (television’s equivalent of the Pulitzer Prize). No other reporter for a local television station has ever won this award three times. He also won four Emmys and the prestigious Robert F. Kennedy Award.
