A county
children services board appointed under section
5153.03 of the Revised Code shall elect one of its members as
chairperson and another as secretary. The chairperson may appoint
committees composed of board members and other persons interested in
child care. A majority of the members of the board shall constitute a
quorum, and the action of a majority of the members present shall
constitute the action of the board. The board shall meet at least once a
month and called or adjourned meetings may be held at any time, as the
board determines. The board members shall serve without compensation,
but they shall be entitled to their necessary expenses and shall be
considered employees of the county under section
325.20 of the Revised Code. Failure of any member of the board to
attend three consecutive regular meetings, unless for reasons beyond the
member's control, or other manifest indifference to the purposes or work
of the board, shall be cause for the member's removal from such board.
