Michelle Jordan, MSW/PhD Student Michelle is currently a combined MSW/PhD
student in Social Work at The Ohio State University. She holds a
B.A. in English from Ohio State and a M.A. in Cultural Studies from
Carnegie Mellon University. She is very excited to begin her field
placement here at PCSAO! Michelle's research interests include
social welfare policy, reproductive health/rights, and youth
development. For the past three years she has worked in Youth and
Family Services at a local settlement house, the Godman Guild
Association. As the academic specialist for an elementary
after-school program and a mentor for teen employment program, she
gained valuable experience in youth development and youth advocacy.
In addition, Michelle "dug in" as the coordinator for Weinland Park
Community Garden, providing gardening space, educational
opportunities, and organic produce to local families. Prior to
that, Michelle was an Intern Supervisor with Grow Pittsburgh, a
dynamic youth development program employing at-risk teens in urban
farms in Pittsburgh, PA. In her spare time, Michelle enjoys taking
photos, making pottery, baking (and eating), and writing her state
representatives! |
